Being someone’s dentist is an incredible privilege. There is a great amount of trust our patients give us, and we do not take it for granted. It is truly rewarding to hand someone a mirror after we’ve restored their mouth and see them smile in a whole new way.
Hermantown is my hometown, and it means a lot to me to be back here, working alongside Dr. Duane McDonald and Dr. Brian McDonald, serving the people with whom I grew up and building relationships with new friends. I cherished my childhood here and hope to give the same experience to my own children.
I graduated from Hermantown High School and spent my undergraduate years at North Park University in Chicago. I then completed my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.
General dentistry allows for incredible variety, from the wide range of our patients’ ages to the entire scope of procedures we provide. Such variety lends itself easily to continuing education, because there is always something more to learn or improve upon. I love that dentistry is always evolving! Staying current with new techniques and technologies, and applying them to clinical practice, are rewarding aspects that benefit myself and our patients.
I am active in organized dentistry as well. I belong to the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, and Northeastern District Dental Society. I've also been involved in the community through Give Kids a Smile Day and Mission of Mercy.
My wife’s name is Anna and we have four boys. We moved to Hermantown in the summer of 2014 but have lived in the Duluth area for the past eight and a half years. My family and I enjoy traveling, geocaching, and sports. Our four young sons keep my wife and me very busy! When I get a quiet hour or two, I love to read, both fiction and non-fiction, and I’m a trivia junkie!
